THEODORE STURGEON
La lunghezza prediletta da Sturgeon è quella della short story, o al massimo del romanzo breve. Un tema dominante della sua narrativa è l'adolescente perseguitato e oppresso che trionfa grazie agli speciali poteri di cui scopre dotato. Un altro è quello dell'amore, sentimento strano e misterioso come l'apparizione di un fantasma, motivo che traspare in non pochi racconti pubblicati dall'autore nel campo del fantastico puro. Superuomini, mutanti, psicologie anomale, esseri dello Spazio: è a un genere entusiasmante ma ancora adolescente che Sturgeon presta la sua penna per trasformarlo in moderna avventura negli "universi di ordine superiore".
